Our foundation

Finelight Media began in 1999 as Schofield Publishing, created to tell meaningful business stories across specialist sectors. Our first publication, Venture, launched in the UK and quickly established a reputation for quality editorial and professional insight. The company’s purpose was simple: to connect industries through content that informs and inspires. This foundation shaped how Finelight Media continues to operate today built on relationships, integrity and a commitment to excellence.

Global expansion

In 2000, we expanded into the United States and opened our Chicago office, marking the start of our international journey. Over the following years, we launched new industry titles and acquired others to serve manufacturing, supply chain, food and beverage, transport, construction and energy markets. Our portfolio grew to include respected publications such as Manufacturing Today, Construction and Civil Engineering and Transportation and Logistics International. Each publication gave industry leaders a trusted platform to share expertise and innovation with global audiences.

Digital transformation

As digital channels reshaped communication, Finelight Media evolved into a digital publishing and marketing company. We expanded into websites, newsletters, video content, SEO-driven editorial, social media and multimedia storytelling. This transformation helped our clients reach new audiences and build stronger online visibility. In 2022, we brought all our titles and marketing services together under the Finelight Media brand to reflect our wider capabilities and digital-first approach.
